countries in APTSA

2. Objectives
2.1. To promote regional
cooperation among physical therapy students in Asia.
2.2. To enhance international
competitiveness of physical therapy students in Asia.
2.3. To encourage
physical therapy students to devote themselves to international education and
health promotion.
2.4. To promote regional
characteristics of Physical Therapy in Asia.
2.5. To broaden physical
therapy students’ horizons.
2.6. To improve
educational environment of PT in Asia.
2.7. To interact with
other countries and associations.
3. Headquarters
3.1. National Taiwan University is the
headquarters.
3.2. The headquarters has the
following duties and responsibilities:
3.2.1
To keep an extra copy of documentations of the Congress meetings.
3.2.2 To promote APTSA.
3.2.3 To construct and maintain the registration system for APTSA members.
3.2.4 To keep the bank account of APTSA.
4. Members
4.1. Membership
4.1.1. Formal members: Formal members are country members, and each country can
send a maximum of 3 student
representatives but each country can only have one student vote. Each country
member needs to have at least
one student representative.
4.1.2.
General members:
4.1.2.1. Association member: An association member is a school organization or
regional organization that joins
the APTSA.
4.1.2.2. Individual member: An individual member is a PT student who joins the
APTSA.
4.1.2.3. Supporting member: A supporting member is a member who is interested in
the works of the APTSA and
wants to support it.
4.1.2.4. Alumni member: An alumni member is limited to students who have
graduated from a PT school in Asia
and used to be an individual member and representative of a formal member.
4.2. Rights
4.2.1. Formal member: Each formal member has the right to vote for the
president, vice president, and the candidate
of each department of the executive committee of the APTSA.
4.2.2.
General member:
4.2.2.1. Association member: Each association member has the right to receive
information of APTSA and
attend the activities held by APTSA. Each association member also has the
opportunity to put forth a
nominee to be the formal member to represent the country.
4.2.2.2. Individual member: Each member has the right to receive information of
APTSA and attend the activities
held by APTSA.
4.2.2.3. Supporting member: Each supporting member has the right to receive
information of APTSA and attend
the activities held by APTSA.
4.2.2.4. Alumni member: Each supporting member has the right to receive
information of APTSA and attend the
activities held by APTSA.
4.3. Obligations
4.3.1.
To act under the APTSA Constitution
4.3.2.
To pay the annual dues of APTSA.
4.3.2.1. The amount of dues and the due date of payment can be adjusted by the
executive committee as they
see fit.
4.3.2.2. Amount of annual fee:
4.3.2.2.1. Association member: 50USD/years
4.3.2.2.2. Individual member: 15USD/years
4.3.2.2.3. Supporting member: 15USD/years
4.3.2.2.4. Alumni member: 15USD/years
4.3.3. Dues are owned by all members of the APTSA and cannot be used privately.
4.4. Suspension
4.4.1. Delayed payment.
4.4.1.1. If the case arises that a general member cannot pay by the set due
date, that general member must
gain approval from the executive committee. And, if approved, will be given an
additional 3 months to
settle the amount. Failure to do so will warrant a suspension. Approval from the
executive committee
must be in one month ahead of the due date.
4.4.2. Do not obey the constitution.
4.4.2.1. Punishments for any violations of this constitution will be decided
upon by the current executive
committee.
5. Activities
5.1.
Annual Congress
5.2. Academic Seminar and workshop should be held at least once a year.
5.3. Publication and information dissemination
5.3.1. Could be held in any form
6. Executive Committee
6.1. Each
country must be represented in the executive committee.
The executive
committee is comprised of the following:
6.2. President
6.2.1. Manage the members in APTSA.
6.2.2. Decide the main direction of APTSA each year.
6.2.3. Represent the entire organization and not their respective country.
6.2.4. If the case arises that the president for two consecutive years is from
the same country, that country is required
to hold the annual congress only once within the president’s term.
6.2.4.1. President has the priority to host the next conference, but upon
refusal can open the floor to bidding by
other country. The host country will be chosen by the board.
6.2.5. The elected president should represent the entire organization and not
their respective countries.
6.3. Internal Affairs
Department
6.3.1. The head of this department is also the vice president.
6.3.1.1 The vice president will be the acting president in the absence of the
president.
6.4. Finance Department
6.4.1. Drawing up and execution of budget.
6.4.2. Preparation and presentation of annual financial report.
6.5. Academic Department
6.5.1. Plan for seminars and workshops and other programs related to academic
development.
6.5.2. Be responsible for being aware of and observing the ethical and legal
issues related in conducting program.
6.6. Publication Department
6.6.1. Manage the website.
6.6.2. Collate information from physical therapy departments of universities and
colleges in Asia.
6.7. Documentation Department
6.7.1. Keeps the records of the minutes of the meeting and the activity of the
organization.
6.7.2. Manages and maintains the internal collaborative website.
6.8. External affairs Department
6.8.1. Establish and cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with other
organizations.
6.8.2. Promote the policy of educational exchange programs among member
countries.
6.8.3. Promote the policies that are beneficial to physical therapy development
in Asia.
7. Funding
7.1. Find some partial
support from other organizations.

8. Vote
8.1. Formal members of
APTSA have the rights to vote for president and vice-president.
8.2. The term of
appointment for president and executives is one year. An individual can only be
elected into the same
position for a maximum two consecutive years.
8.2.1.
Any position can only be held by representatives of the same country for a
maximum of two consecutive years.
8.2.2.
The president and candidates of each department should be elected from formal
members.
9. Amendment
9.1. Any item in this constitution can be
amended by the executive committee by the approval of the two-third of
representatives during the
congress.
